Tomorrow, June 11, 2013 from 9:00am – 10:30am ET, ACIP members are invited to attend a panel, titled “Barriers to Cross-Border Labor Mobility for Professionals Doing Business in Canada and the United States,” by the Canada Institute and the Wilson Center in Washington, DC.  Moderated by Daniel Ujczo, of counsel at Dickinson Wright PLLC, panelists will include ACIP’s Executive Director, Lynn Shotwell, as well as Stephen Cryne, the President of Canadian Employee Relocation Council.

ACIP Members Invited: USCIS Teleconference - Immigrant Fee Transition to ELIS

USCIS recently announced the transition of the payment of the USCIS Immigrant Fee from pay.gov to USCIS ELIS, the Electronic Immigration System.  USCIS will hold a teleconference on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Eastern) to discuss the transition.
 
As of February 1, 2013, any customer who receives an immigrant visa package at an overseas consulate or embassy must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee in order to receive their Green Card in the United States.
 
The transition to ELIS is aimed at simplifying and centralizing the payment process and allowing customers to file applications and petitions in the future as they become available in the system. During the teleconference, USCIS subject matter experts will address frequently asked questions regarding the USCIS Immigrant Fee and USCIS ELIS.
